كَادَ (و)(n. ac. كَوْدكَاد [] مَكَاد [] مَكَادَة [] ) a. Was near to, on the point of. b. Desired. c.(n. ac. كَوْد), Hindered. كَوَّدَa. Heaped, piled up. إِكْوَأَدَّ [إِكْوَاْدَّ] a. Trembled. كَوْدَة [] (pl. أَكْوَاْد) a. Heap, pile. مَكَادَة [] a. Wish; will, purpose. بِالكَاد a. [ coll. ], Hardly, scarcely. وَلَا كَوْدًا a. By no means, no wise, not at all. كَادَ يَفْعَل a. He was about to do. مَا كَادَ يَفْعَلَ a. He did not fail to do. b. He was not near doing. أَكَادُ أُخْفِيَهَا a. I wish to keep it secret. كَوْدَن (pl. كَوَادِن) a.
