An Nisa (The women) - النساء

4.174 Abbas - Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(O mankind!) O people of Mecca! (Now hath a proof from your Lord) a messenger from your Lord: Muhammad (pbuh) (come unto you, and We have sent down unto you) unto your Prophet (a clear light) a Scripture that exposits that which is lawful and that which is unlawful;
4.174 Asrar - Kashf Al-Asrar
O people, a proof has come to you from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light.
The majestic Unity is placing a favor on the center point of mortal nature: “We have lit two lamps for you, one in the heart, the other in front of you. The one in front of you is the lamp of the Sunnah, which is the proof itself, and the one in the heart is the lamp of faith and the shining light. Happy is the servant who walks between these two lamps! Who is more exalted than he in whose heart the greatest light is shining and the eyes of whose heart sees the eyes and face of the Friend face-to-face! One breath with the Friend is worth the two worlds. One vision of the Friend for a hundred thousand spirits is gratis!”
In gratitude I will also send my spirit to You-
a whiff of union with You does what a hundred spirits cannot.
4.174 Jalal - Al-Jalalayn
O people, a proof, a definitive argument, has now come to you from your Lord, against you, namely, the Prophet (s), and We have revealed to you a manifest, a clear, light, namely, the Qur’ān.
4.174-175 Kathir - Ibn Al Kathir
The Description of the Revelation that Came From Allah
Allah informs all people that a plain, unequivocal proof has come to them from Him. One that eradicates all possibility of having an excuse, or falling prey to evil doubts. Allah said,
وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ نُوراً مُّبِيناً
(and We sent down to you a manifest light.) that directs to the Truth. Ibn Jurayj and others said, "It is the Qur'an.''
فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِاللَّهِ وَاعْتَصَمُواْ بِهِ
(So, as for those who believed in Allah and held fast to depend on Him,) by worshipping Him and relying on Him for each and every thing. Ibn Jurayj said that this part of the Ayah means, "They believe in Allah and hold fast to the Qur'an.''
فَسَيُدْخِلُهُمْ فِى رَحْمَةٍ مَّنْهُ وَفَضْلٍ
(He will admit them to His mercy and grace,) meaning, He will grant them His mercy and admit them into Paradise, and will increase and multiply their rewards and their ranks, as a favor and bounty from Him.
وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَيْهِ صِرَطاً مُّسْتَقِيماً
(and guide them to Himself by a straight path.) and a clear way that has no wickedness in it or deviation. This, indeed, is the description of the believers in this life and the Hereafter, as they are on the straight and safe path in matters of action and creed. In the Hereafter, they are on the straight path of Allah that leads to the gardens of Paradise.
4.174 Qushairi - Al-Qushairi
